AUTHORS & BOOKS
- Kirsten Dixon – Winterlake Lodge Cookbook – Cookbook author Kirsten Dixon kicks off a writing workshop starting September 10th at Title Wave Books in Anchorage, Alaska. This fall writing workshop series is on all things culinary. Each three-hour workshop may be attended independently or you are welcome to join Kirsten for all five sessions. Minimum three participants, maximum twelve. All workshops are open to the public and free of charge. 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each Sunday September 10th to October 8th.
- Joan Harris – The Least of These: Wild Baby Bird Rescue Stories – Author and illustrator Joan Harris will sign copies of her books One Wing’s Gift and The Least of These alongside Bird TLC’s live presentation of an eagle on September 21st at 7:30 p.m. at Title Wave Books in Anchorage, Alaska.
- Bob and Deanna Persons – The Double Musky Inn Cookbook – Bob and Deanna Persons, owners of the incredibly popular Girdwood eatery the Double Musky Inn, along with their son, Justin, and his wife, Kinzee will be at Title Wave Books in Anchorage, Alaska on September 9th at 1:00 p.m. to sign copies of their new must-have cookbook. Limited copies of the book will be available during the formal signing only, and on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Big-Enough Anna by Pam Flowers and Ann Dixon, illustrated by Bill Farnsworth is the title representing the state of Alaska at the 2006 National Book Festival. The National Book Festival, organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush, will be held on September 30th on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between 7th and 14th streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (rain or shine). The festival is free and open to the public. Big Enough Anna will be one of the featured items at the Alaska Center for the Book booth in the Pavilion of the States. Our own Alaska regional manager and Alaska Center for the Book board member will be staffing the booth.
