Salt & Pepper at the Pike Place Market
Text by Carol Losi and Illustrations by Amy Meissner

Salt and Pepper may look like twins, but in all other ways, they’re nothing alike. Salt is a wild guy with messy fur and bad manners. Pepper is a little lady, obedient and sweet. Then one day at the Pike Place Market, the crowd gets thick, the fish are flying, and two little dogs accidentally get switched, ending up with the wrong owners! Now what?

Don’t forget to place orders for these funny, racy and delicious upcoming titles that will be arriving in our warehouse this summer!

Not Really an Alaskan Mountain Man
Now here’s a formula for near disaster: East Coast big-city guy, world-traveler, journalist, and otherwise politically savvy fellow settles down in rural Alaska, where men are many and manly, and women with survival skills are good to count among your friends. He wants to fit in. But how does one learn to be a Mountain Man? By observing, imitating, and making near-fatal mistakes, that’s how. This story is the side-splitting humor that one finds and provides for others in doing just that.

Portland Confidential
And you thought Mobsters, racketeering, strippers and paid-off cops were only in the “big cities”… Well think again. Phil Stanford’s new book, Portland Confidential: Sex, Crime and Corruption in the Rose City, tosses the history and reputation of our little city of light rails and lattes, tree-saving agendas and enlightened thought on its ear. From characters such as Al Winter, the former Portland mob boss who ultimately moved to Las Vegas to open the Sahara Casino, to Bill Langly, the Multnomah County DA caught on tape planning to divvy up payoffs with Seattle mobsters, Portland Confidential shows the reader a whole new side of the sleepy little city by the river.
