PLEASE OBTAIN PERMISSION TO MAKE A SUBMISSION BEFORE YOU SEND IN YOUR BOOK PROPOSAL. THIS CAN BE DONE BY CALLING THE EDITORIAL DEPARTMENT OR FAXING A REQUEST FOR PERMISSION BRIEFLY DETAILING YOUR PROPOSAL.
AFTER YOU HAVE OBTAINED PERMISSION, PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN YOUR SUBMISSION:
- A complete outline of your idea/concept (include ideal book specs: trim size, # of pages, # of photos, text size, and author possibilities)
- A table of contents detailing the areas/regions/themes to be covered
- A tentative shoot list explaining the prospective photographic coverage
- Tentative work schedule; advance/royalty expectations
- Market research regarding potential trade and/or corporate sales
- Individual bio with examples of work previously published
- At least 40 transparencies displaying your photographic talent (numbered, labeled with descriptions, and verified in a delivery memo)
- Return postage or a filled out FedEx form
- After receiving your submission, please allow up to 4 months for us to preview a book proposal.
We will make every effort to handle your transparencies with the utmost of care. However, we are not liable for any loss or damage of transparencies submitted with a book proposal. In addition, we do not pay pull, research, or holding fees to preview your transparencies.
